We have finally come to the culmination of God’s plan for our salvation. A plan made necessary by our continuing rebellion against him and his revelation, and the total depravity of our heart. Oh, you may think that you’re a good person and God should accept you for who you are, but if you do you’re only fooling yourself. The truth is that we are all “sinful and unclean” and deserve nothing but punishment for it from God. The truth also is that God, in his love and grace, made a way for our sins to be forgiven and for us to “be clean” in order to live forever with him in his heavenly kingdom. Now we come to the climax of that plan, that way. This is the week of Jesus’ passion. This is when He completes his mission of descending from heaven into humanity, fulfilling God’s perfect law and decrees, taking on all mankind’s guilt and punishment, suffering and dying, and then rising victorious for our salvation. Come and retrace the steps of Jesus with us on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as on Easter Sunday. Walk with Jesus to the table in the upper room, to the Garden of Gethsemane, and to Golgotha. Die to sin with him on Good Friday and then rise with him to new life, eternal life, on Easter morning. Come join us as we receive his gifts of forgiveness and salvation and respond with praise and thanksgiving…with excitement and joy!
